Focalize partnered with NYC Administration for Children’s Services to lead the design, planning, implementation, and initial monitoring of a system-wide CQI model at 180+ foster care and preventive service programs across NYC between 2013-2017.

This system change resulted in immediate and significant improvements in caseworker contacts with children (2016) and is currently the focus of continued research.

The Focalize team created a uniform methodology for foster care and preventive services data collection City-wide and established valid and reliable metrics to assess performance.

This CQI model called, Collaborative Quality Improvement, was featured at the US Children’s Bureau Office of Abuse and Neglect conference as a national example of outstanding practice (2016).
